Church of the Holy Spirit, San Antonio, is seeking to hire a qualified individual to serve in the full-time ministry of Director of Faith Formation/Parish Catechesis.
The primary responsibility of the Director of Faith Formation/Parish Catechesis is to administrate (design, develop, direct and evaluate) a total parish catechetical program and provide leadership to assist a parish community in building a solid foundation for children, youth and adult spirituality, Christian living, ministry and church. This position will work under the direct supervision of the Pastor. The Director of Faith Formation/Parish Catechesis will also be responsible for the supervision of the Faith Formation staff.
The Director of Faith Formation/Parish Catechesis must be a person of faith and prayer, in full communion with the Roman Catholic Church; able to relate well with all ages and groups within the parish; eager to participate in on-going spiritual and educational opportunities.
Education requirements are: BA/MA in Theology, Religious Education or a related theological field and six (6) credits or 60 clock hours of in-service in the following: Administration or MA/BS in education or educational administration with twenty-four (24) semester credits in theology and catechetics required. Professional Level 4 certification with the Archdiocese; Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus, but not exclusively required; Three-five years experience in a Catholic parish or equivalent and at least one (1) year of paid administrative experience. Evening and weekend ministry will be a noticeable reality.
