Parish Groups

A.C.T.S.

It is a Catholic renewal movement and a retreat experience that is administered by parishioners for parishioners, offering weekends for spiritual growth. Talks and activities during the retreat sessions focus on Adoration, Community, Theology, and Service, hence the acronym A.C.T.S. You will return to your faith community with an increased desire to become more involved in your relationship with God, your relationship with your family, and your relationship with your community. Each year our parish ACTS community sponsors retreats for men and women in both English and Spanish, as well as a summer retreat for teens. Holy Spirit ACTS community also offers an ACTS II retreat for those who have attended the ACTS retreat. For more information or to see a list of all our upcoming retreats, please visit our Holy Spirit ACTS website.

Altar Society

The Holy Spirit Altar Society serves as the core group of dedicated parishioners who maintain the Church sanctuary and care for all items required in liturgical celebrations. The membership circles are responsible for the weekly sanctuary cleaning, all altar linens, maintaining priest, deacon, and altar server vestments, floral arrangements, the Christmas Nativity scene, Lenten ashes and palms, hosting wedding parties, bibs for infant baptisms, and so much more.

Athletic Association / C.Y.O.

A Catholic parish Athletic Association seeks to instill in adults and youths good morals, reverence, sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, and courage so that they may be better Christians and good, clean, healthy individuals. These objectives are realized by providing supervised competitive athletic games. Programs focus on youth sports and recreation, emphasizing friendly competition through good sportsmanship that is modeled by the adult participants. It uses sports as an attraction to the deeper issues of life. The members shall bear in mind at all times that the attainment of exceptional athletic skills or the winning of games is secondary, and that molding of good Christians and future citizens is of prime importance. All volunteers serve as Youth Ministers within the athletic context. The Holy Spirit Athletic Association provides opportunities for our youth to play a variety of sports. Soccer, flag football, and volleyball are offered in the Fall, followed by basketball and track in the Winter, and then baseball/softball/t-ball in the Spring and Summer. Boys and girls from kinder to high school (must be 4 by August 31 of that school year) are encouraged to participate. Registration dates are published in our Sunday bulletin as well as in the announcements on this website. For more information on Eligibility Rules, Regulations, Sports & Event information, please visit the Archdiocesan Catholic Youth Organization [CYO] website.
